WSAA was incorporated on 31 January 1995. As a new organisation, WSAA’s role is evolving. The Australian water industry is in a period of rapid change and new issues for the industry are continually emerging. A regular review by Members of WSAA’s role and priority industry issues is essential if the organisation is to continue delivering benefits to Members.

WSAA's VISION

In representing its Members, WSAA will be respected and sought after for its strategic contribution on national issues for the provision of water services, focusing on:

• Customer Service;
• Public Health;
• Environmental Management; and
• Business Performance.

WSAA regularly scans the environment for issues that are of concern to the Australian water industry. The members meeting in February 1998 identified the following priority issues for 1998/99:

• Drinking water and public health;
• Environmental issues, specifically effluent outfalls; and
• Industry futures in a more competitive environment.
