DoloMatrix is the owner of intellectual property rights to the Dolocrete® encapsulation technology. This technology has been researched, developed and verified over a number of years.

Dolocrete® is a magnesium oxide type binder prepared from very high magnesium carbonate content, dolomite or magnesite material. This material is crushed and specially calcined, then combined with a proprietary catalyst. The resultant off-white powder, Dolocrete®, can be chemically bonded with a variety of waste products with the effect of stabilising the waste. The Dolocrete® powder solidifies the waste and effectively micro-encapsulates the filler materials, including hazardous waste. It achieves its setting characteristics through a carbonation curing process. Control of setting times, compressive strength, texture, form and colour can be readily accommodated. Dolocrete® is safe, effective, versatile and economic.

The key features of the Dolocrete® technology are that it:

• treats hazardous wastes and turns them into safe solids for sustainable disposal

• has been tested by numerous independent laboratories to confirm that it is capable of meeting the most stringent environmental legislation from around the world
