Pro-Bac Industries Pty Ltd

section heading graphic   Overview

Pro-Bac Organic wastewater treatment is well proven and accepted by many water authorities and has many long-term users to its credit. The performance of the product is well established and because most problems are biological in nature, Pro-Bac users have derived benefits that could not have been achieved by plant modification alone. Control of odour in sewer mains and wastewater treatment plants of all types is a biological function and Pro-Bac treatment has been outstanding in these areas.

The difference between Pro-Bac and conventional additives is that Pro-Bac is a stimulant of the naturally present bacteria, making them grow and perform better. The product does not add any particular bacteria strain and does not chemically alter the raw sewage. Pro-Bac treats the cause of sewage transportation and process problems, not just the symptom.

This technology of bio-stimulation has proven worthy of consideration, especially where problems of odour, fat, grease and corrosion need a biological solution. Although Pro-Bac is primarily applied for odour control, a major benefit of the treatment is that microbes stimulated by Pro-Bac will strip fats and grease from sewer mains. Apart from making access to the equipment in pump stations much easier and certainly more pleasant for your maintenance crews, a reduction in fat will reduce the occurrence of chokes.

After stripping the fats, grease and biofilm (slimes) from the sewer mains, the biofilm “blockers” naturally inherent in Pro-Bac prevent re-colonisation of the sulphur reducing bacteria thus denying them a habitat. This significantly reduces the production of dissolved sulphides and in turn H2S gas, consequently reducing odour and corrosion and protecting infrastructure assets.

Pro-Bac Organic Concentrate is specifically for the sewage treatment market for major extended aeration systems and trickle filter plants through to package plants, common effluent systems and even septics and vault toilets. This treatment is very cost-effective and completely safe.
