Initially, we saw ourselves as instrument manufacturers. We soon realised, however, that we also needed to supply display software. Then, on the basis of the instruments’ results, we set up automatic feedback to help control plant operations. Now our products have evolved to the extent that we define ourselves as providers of complete process control solutions.

The Coalscan range of analysers has now evolved into the widest range of online coal analysers offered by any company in the world and includes:

• Geoscan – a through belt elemental analysis system for monitoring bulk materials such as limestone, bauxite and cement
• TBM200 series moisture monitors – the result of Scantech's many years of experience developing microwave technology
• CM100 coke moisture monitor – a direct, on-conveyor monitor for measuring moisture in conducting materials
• DPM 200 density profile meter – measures the density profile of small sample blocks of particle board and other materials
• Carbon in Fly Ash Monitor – provides rapid, precise, real-time information to coal fired power stations.
