Environment directory history and people

The environment directory is the original and longest-running online Australian environment directory. It was established in 1998 by Ian Bergman, owner of EIDN Pty Ltd (Environment Industry Development Network). EIDN was a spinoff company of the former Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) for Waste Management and Pollution Control (now the Environmental Biotechnology CRC).

Ian Bergman is an environment industry business development consultant with eight years of experience showcasing Australian technology companies overseas. The directory is now owned by a business Ian established in New South Wales in 2007 called Inspired Marketing.

The directory is managed on behalf of Inspired Marketing by Margaret Metz, Writer & Editor, Magic Words. Margaret Metz has ten years of experience promoting the Enviro, Ozwater and EcoForum conferences and exhibitions on behalf of Quitz Event Management. She is also a former editor of the Australian Water Association Water journal, WME magazine and the Sustainability Matters section of the former Waste Streams magazine (now Sustainability Matters).
